Teri Sodd is a self-taught artist who started out selling turquoise jewelry, and then found that her interest in art was rekindled by the native peoples and their colorful costumes. She was given the name Morning Star Rising by one of her Cherokee-Lakota friends, and this star can be found at the end of her signature. She currently resides and works at her studio on the foothills of the Sierra Blanca in New Mexico.
